Cafe Mondegar, Colaba, Mumbai (Where You can Mix Music With Beer)

On my visit to Mumbai I always make sure that I visit Cafe Leopold once. But this time Agent Pepper recommended me Cafe Mondegar which is just ahead of Cafe Leopold in Colaba. This cafe is  as lively from the inside as it is from the outside. With the great Mario Miranda's artworks all over the walls, this place has an amazing  ambiance with an old jukebox playing English songs. And it's not just the walls, even the plates contain Mario's artworks.

Fried Calamari
Bacon Wrapped Prawns
The menu here has a wide variety of dishes to choose from. What we ate here was Fried Calamari, Crunchy Chicken and Bacon Wrapped Prawns. In beverages we had the usual Fresh Lime Soda. Now, the Fried Calamari was something that I had never tried and it turned out to be really good.
The Crunchy Chicken I would say is a distant relative of Chilly Chicken but it still has its own taste. The flavour of fresh coriander and red chillies makes it taste good. The show stopper for us were the Bacon Wrapped Prawns, it's again something that yo might not get everywhere. Slightly roasted prawns wrapped in crunchy bacon, this combination is fabulous.

The thing that I liked the most about this place apart from the food and the ambiance is the hospitality. The waiters are all friendly and lively people making you feel really comfortable in that place. Cafe Mondegar gives you full  value for your money. And make sure you grab a  souvenir for yourself. I got myself a T-shirt!!

Amazing Parsi Food @ Britannia and Company, Mumbai

Agent Pepper placing the order with The Old Man
"There is no love greater than the love of eating", this is the tag line of this place. Britannia and Company is one the few restaurants that serves authentic Parsi cuisine. It's an old place with an ambiance that takes you back to the British age. At the table, the owner himself a very lovable and friendly old man comes and greets everyone at the table and takes your order. The coolest thing about this place is that even the Queen of England has been here.

Chicken Berry Pulao
Now for the recommendations, the Chicken Berry Pulao here is to die for. it's as delicious as it is different. Dish number two would be Chicken Dhansak served with Brown Rice which is  another Parsi specialty. It consists of various lentils and vegetables and of course chicken. It's again something  you don't get to eat everyday. In beverages the Raspberry Soda is something one should not miss. And for the desserts go for the Caramel Custard which is out of the world.
